BITTERSWEET: The Ohangwena regional council - in partnership with the Office of the Prime Minister - is assisting about 16 to 20 homesteads - from which residents have been relocated due to the severe floods - with tents. The homes are at Onaminda village in the Oshikango constituency. The floods, which arrived in northern Namibia from Angola, have caused destruction to the crop fields of subsistence farmers. George Ngololo, headman of Onaminda village, said he is grateful to the government for a speedy response to their plight. Ngololo is part of the affected subsistence farmers. He urged the people in his village not to panic as help is being sought to rescue them.
