Windy Oranjemund warning for residents

NEWS IN SHORT

Oranjemund residents are being urged to avoid parking under trees as strong winds sweep through the town, increasing the risk of falling branches and debris. In an urgent safety advisory issued this month, the Oranjemund Town Council warned that unstable trees pose a serious threat to both vehicles and personal safety, stressing that the current weather conditions could cause branches to snap unexpectedly.

“We strongly advise all residents to avoid parking under trees and to stay alert for any other hazards,” the statement read. “This precaution will not only safeguard your vehicles but, more importantly, protect lives.” Residents are also urged to report fallen trees or other safety concerns on public property immediately. “Prompt reporting allows us to respond swiftly and take necessary action,” the advisory stated.
