Kunene: Flash-flood alert issued
The Namibia Meteorological Service has warned that heavy rainfall is still expected in the Kunene, Omusati and the Otjozondjupa regions and that necessary precautions for flash floods must be taken.
The latest flood bulletin issued on Monday said communities in flood-prone areas - especially in Kunene - are advised to be on high alert for possible flash floods.
Satellite images over the past 72 hours have indicated heavy rainfall over the northwest and moderate rains in the central and southern parts of the country, it said.
The bulletin added that moderate to heavy rains are expected over the northwestern, north central and northeastern parts of the country, while light showers are expected in the south until 13 February.
