JUST IN: Scenes of destruction

Views from the Onaminda village in the Oshikango Constituency in the Ohangwena Region, where people from about 20 households had to be evacuated yesterday after flood water submerged their homes. Officials from the Ohangwena Regional Council Disaster Risk Management Committee and officials from the Office of the Prime Minister were on the ground to assess the impact of the flood. They called in members of the Namibian Defence Force for assistance. The evacuation team will continue with its efforts throughout the week, moving affected people to dry land. PHOTOS: TUYEIMO HAIDULA
