Shorts: Hamwele ascends to NTB chairmanship
The Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) has officially appointed Olavi Hamwele as its new chairperson for the 2024–2026 term. Hamwele, who previously served as vice-chairperson, had been acting in the role since Janette Fourie’s resignation last year. Rachel Nathanael-Koch has been named vice chairperson, while Webb-Bowen joins as a new board member. Existing board members Ally Karaerua, Maggy Mbako, Nguvitjita Zatjirua, and Efraim Nkoshi will continue their terms. With seven members now on the board, the ministry of tourism aims to strengthen NTB’s leadership for effective governance and the growth of Namibia’s tourism sector.
