NWR strategise to boost SA youth tourism to Namibia
Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) and the South African High Commission to Namibia today discussed strategies on how to attract more young South Africans to Namibia.
A delegation of NWR, led by its managing director Dr Matthias Ngwangwama met with councillor Kasturie Maharaj to discuss strategy.
Spokesperson of NWR, Nelson Ashipala, said that the discussions highlighted that while many South African visitors understand the historical ties between the two nations, younger generations, particularly 'Generation Z' and millennials, have yet to take full advantage of travel opportunities to Namibia.
Both parties agreed on developing targeted initiatives to position Namibia as a prime destination for South Africa’s youth, leveraging its unique landscapes, adventure tourism, and cultural heritage.
Ashipala said NWR and the high commission have committed to working together on a strategic approach to enhance Namibia’s appeal among young travellers in South Africa, further strengthening tourism ties between the two countries.
