Namibia Tourism Expo 2023 kicks off today
Wine voucher with entry
The most highly anticipated event on the Namibian social calendar kicks off today, with exciting performances to be enjoyed and delicious food and drink to be savoured.
The annual Namibia Tourism Expo will be launched today at the Windhoek Country Club and Resort at 14:00. Gates will open to the public as from 16:00, while the expo will run today to Friday from 16:00 to 21:00. Gates close at 22:00.
Entrance will cost you N$150 per adult, which will come with a wine glass, a token for wine tasting and a coffee voucher. Children get in for N$50, while their ticket comes with an E-racing simulator voucher. Children under six and pensioners over 60 enter for free.
As always, the annual expo aims to bring together exhibitors - whether they be direct operators of the hospitality industry, suppliers or the public as visitors.
In line with this year’s theme 'beyond borders', organiser Namibia Media Holdings' (NMH) aim is to widen the scope of service providers beyond Namibian borders, which also applies to prospective tourists, who visit the expo and make use of the opportunity to plan their next holiday.
But the Namibia Tourism Expo offers more than meets the eye, as there will be network sessions - which will be conducted on Thursday and Friday from 11:00 to 15:00.
The themes are as varied as the speakers, who will delve into topics such as youth in tourism, community tourism and conservation efforts at community level, social interventions, internships and funding opportunities. A new perspective is added with the British High Commissioner, Charles Moore, having travelled widely through Namibia, and he will be providing a third-party opinion about what visitors can realistically expect.
On the entertainment side, NMH has again invited the SPCA (on Thursday at 16:00) to conduct its 'Adopt a Dog' campaign. Various culinary demonstrations and competitions will also take place, with Vocalfront, Big Ben, Savannah Collins and the Carnival of Flames providing unmissable audio-visual entertainment.
