#JustIn: Sandwich Dune Tours takes over Dune 7 operations
Sandwich Dune Tours and Safari was announced as operator for the Dune 7 concession inside the Dorob National Park.
The company is expected to take over management of Dune 7 soon and will employ at least 45 workers as part of its operations.
Environmental ministry spokesperson Romeo Muyunda said that the popular recreational area has recently been criticized for its state in terms of litter as well as vandalized ablution and water infrastructure.
As a long-term solution, the ministry advertised a tender for interested individuals and companies to manage the area on behalf of the ministry. The tender process closed on 27 January and attracted 18 applicants.

The company will offer various adventure activities including paragliding, dune climbing, stargazing as well as tours to Walvis Bay. It will also develop a restaurant that is open daily and can host special events like weddings or corporate functions.
