Yesterday afternoon saw the launch of the annual Namibia Tourism Expo at the Windhoek Country Club and Resort. The public can still visit the expo from 16:00 to 22:00 today and tomorrow. Gates, however, close at 21:00.

Detailed maps of the expo site are available on Namibia Media Holdings' (NMH) websites, social media platforms and in its newspapers.

NMH CEO Albe Botha expressed delight at being able to organise the Namibia Tourism Expo for a 24th year, with this year's event focusing on the theme 'beyond borders'.

This year has also seen the addition of the Windhoek City Market to the expo's jam-packed line-up.

“We have partnered with several lodges in the surrounding areas to provide our viewers and readers with exclusive travel packages. These lodges offer breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and will be the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long day at the event," Botha said.

"We will once again have our voucher programme this year to promote tourism, where people who have won cash-back vouchers of N$1 000 will be able to make bookings with tourism establishments during the expo. We are proud to be working with Standard Bank and Pay Pulse in redeeming the vouchers.”

The expo will, according to him, focus more and more on Namibia's neighbouring countries, while tourists will be invited to experience the Land of the Brave as part of the bigger southern African picture - in line with the 'beyond borders' concept.

Various culinary experiences as well as launches of initiatives – not least of them the 'Town of the Year' competition, the 'Le Rugby Tour', that will see winners flying to France, and the launch of the final voting process for 'Tourist of the Year' – are some of the not-to-be-missed happenings set to add value to the tourism-related seminars that will be conducted today and tomorrow between 11:00 and 16:00.
