Association launched to help inventors
Public urged to join
Through a collaboration with the Institute of Inventors and Innovators in South Africa, IAN offers a range of programmes and resources.
“It's the best thing since sliced bread!" How often have you heard that saying? Often enough maybe to realise that someone, somewhere, invented an idea that makes our lives easier, as do the myriad of items around us that we use every day.
The pen in your hand, the cup of coffee at your side, your computer, your smart phone, the spaceship that went to the moon, everything was invented.
Behind every invention is a person who saw a problem or an opportunity and invented a solution or a new contraption.
In this vein, the Inventors Association of Namibia (IAN) has been launched. Its mission? To help all aspiring inventors and innovators in the country.
“Our vision is to ignite inventors and innovators in our diverse and fascinating Namibia to capitalise on our human ingenuity and to create, innovate and invent!” the association said in a statement.
“Our mission is to ensure inventors and innovators have the platform, and the resources, knowledge, guidance and advice to make this happen with their inventions.”

“IAN will teach you how to invent with our ‘10 Steps to Inventing’ programme. With IAN at your side, you will be able to turn your visions into reality,” it added.
“Why are we doing this for our inventors? We want to empower you, to tap into your potential, to make our world a better place. We want you to tackle new challenges, we want you to feel proud of your accomplishments, we want you to share your brilliance with others!” the association said.
