Looser and Pritzen win Tour de Windhoek
The 2022 Pupkewitz Megatech Tour de Windhoek road cycling tour was won yesterday by Vera Looser of the Mannies Bike Mecca Team (MBM) and Marc Pritzen pf Honeycomb Pro Cycling.
Looser completed the tour (about 245 kilometres) in 7 hours 0 minutes and 53 seconds while Pritzen needed 7:42:59 for an estimated 355 km.
Looser won four of the shifts as well as the prologue. She finished the fifth and final stage (53 kilometres) at the Von Bach Dam in 1:41:37 in second place with Anri Krugel first (1:41:37). Pritzen took the stage over 77 km in 1:50:16 for his eighth place.
Courtney Liebenberg (MBM) 7:01:54 is second overall with the elite women and Melissa Hinz of Food Lover's Market (FLM) third in 7:02:09.
The first three Namibians overall are Alex Miller (4th, 7:45:12), Hugo Hahn 7th in 7:46:03 (both Megatech Elite) and Brandon Plaatjies (NCCS) twelfth in 7:59:19.
Elite teams
Men: 1 Honeycomb, 2 Megatech Elite and 3 TEG Procycling.
Women: 1 FLM, 2 MBM and 3 Cymot.
