Namibian boxers proved their class in Zimbabwe following a successful tournament held over the weekend.
Boxing Promoter Nestor Tobias has expressed satisfaction after his stable’s boxers delivered a clean sweep in neighbouring Zimbabwe.
The MTC Nestor Promotions had send five boxers to compete in the neighbouring country over the weekend.
“This was a great investment for our promotion and for boxing in the country and I want to thank our sponsors MTC and PstBet for allowing us to represent Namibian boxing in Zimbabwe,” said the promoter Nestor Tobias.
Tobias says the boxers proved why MTC Sunshine and Namibian boxing is in a class of its own in Africa.
The night started with Sebastianus Nathanael defeating Peter Pambeni on points over six rounds.
Nestor Amukoto followed with a TKO victory in the first round over Blessing Kachigwada.
Namibian top boxing prospect Mateus Heita made easy work of Bongani Makorova with a devastating second round technical knockout.
Heita used the tournament as an opportunity to keep fit and healthy going forward as he prepares for bigger international fights.
Onesmus Nekundi was also part of the success story on the night following a knockout victory over Tatenda Biningu in the fifth round.
Alfeus Shaanika wrapped up a perfect night for the Tobias camp with a unanimous decision victory over Philip Musairi.
“I am extremely proud of how the boys delivered on foreign soil.
“It was indeed good performances from everyone and we are proud that no one will come back home feeling bad.
“At the end it was a perfect night for MTC Sunshine, exposing its boxers with resilience to fight away from home in such impressive style,” Tobias added.
