Last Friday, Olympic silver medallist Christine Mboma received a Haval Jolion from Pupkewitz Motors at its Haval/GWM dealership in Windhoek.

The car was handed over as part of a two-year sponsorship collaboration.

In a statement, the Jolion is described as the epitome of luxury, style and performance, featuring state-of-the-art technology and exceptional design. It is, therefore, an excellent representation of Mboma’s unique personality and high-performance lifestyle.

According to the partnership agreement, the sprint star will be driving a different car each quarter of the year.

Dedication, perseverance and excellence

Pupkewitz Motors head of marketing and communications Veruschka de la Harpe said the collaboration is testament to the company's commitment and continuous investment in the development of the Namibian sports community.

“The 19-year-old sprinter is a perfect example of dedication, perseverance and excellence, which aligns with the core values of Pupkewitz Motors. We’re honoured to be her mobility partner of choice."

Mboma, who won a silver medal in the 200-metre final with a time of 21.81 seconds at the Tokyo Olympics, broke the world under-20 and African senior records and became the first woman from Namibia to ever win an Olympic medal at 19.

Pupkewitz Motors’ franchise director Nico Pieters added that they were thrilled to partner with the athlete.

“The Haval Jolion is a perfect fit for her lifestyle and career. We are honoured to be a part of her journey, and this partnership is a symbol of our belief in her abilities."

The vehicle will assist Mboma, who is always on the move to and from the training ground, the company said.
