Khomas Nampol have played eight games so far and their coach Fortune Eichab has admitted that the team has big dreams of gaining promotion to the premier league.

Level on points with their friends Namibian Correctional Services, the police team is daring to dream about what could be the club’s greatest achievement.

There is still a long way to go before the season concludes, but Eichab’s side has shown signs of maturity as well as desire to win push for glory.

The former Tura Magic coach who joined the Nampol team at the beginning of the season has all the experience needed to take the team to greater heights.

He however also refuses to get carried away given the strength of the rest of the teams that form the Southern Stream First Division.

“What we have been doing as a team is to respect the opponents, while remaining humble to the course.

“It is still early days but we are grateful that we are on top of the table,” Eichab said.

The Namibian Police team has so far played eight matches this season, securing an impressive six wins.

The side has only drawn once this season, while also enduring a defeat in one of the matches.

Khomas Nampol has been clinical in front of goal in a season which has seen them scoring 18 goals so far.

The team has also conceded nine goals, while second placed NSC has conceded just seven.

The fact that the NSC are level on points with Khomas Nampol is not scaring Eichab from taking his chances and going for the title.

“The journey is called the final ride and we are in football to win and we will work hard to win.

“We also know that we will face difficult challenges on this road but we must be ready to deal with them,” Eichab remarked.

Dates Eleven FC are so far the closest to the two log leaders, having registered 15 points this season.

Windhoek United and Western Spurs are the two teams at the Bottom of the table with their chances of promotion fading game by game.

Try Again FC are also in 10th and will be eager to avoid a slump when the season resumes after the festive break.

One of the new kids on the block DTS Hopsol FC and Mariental FC are still in contention of glory.

The two clubs arrived in this campaign as teams with a proper club structure and many of the people still have high expectations that they will give a proper account of themselves this season.

Coastal side Blue Boys are also not so far off the top two either given that they are in fourth with just five points behind the leaders.

Former league football side Ramblers have been one of the strugglers after only securing seven points so far.

Many of the football clubs in this division will however be comforted by the fact that it is just eight games played and they are still have a chance of salvaging something this season.
