Black Africa on course with first win
Black Africa Football Club registered its first win of the 2022/2023 Debmarine Namibia Premiership against Orlando Pirates Football Club at the University of Namibia (Unam) stadium in Windhoek on Saturday afternoon.
The Lively Lions scored the only goal of the encounter to beat Pirates 1-0 in front of a supportive crowd for both teams.
This is Black Africa's first win in seven games, and earns them three valuable league points. But they will remain in the 15th position on the log with five league points and a goal difference of minus five.
Young African will remain in 14th place with five league points after seven games - one win, two draws and four losses - with a negative goal difference of four.
Pirates is in eighth position with 10 league points - seven games, two wins, four draws, one loss - boasting seven goals for, four against and a goal difference of three.
Daryl Goagoseb of Black Africa shattered Pirates’ defense with 14 minutes on the clock in the first half to secure the match's solo goal. After his strike, the tall, lithe player showed his talent covering not only his part of the game, but secured many more opportunities for fellow players and was a live wire on defence.
His positional game was never under suspicion, saving countless aerial balls and a hand full of goal attempts against his side.
