"Special One" set for major test yet

Namibian boxing sensation Flame "Special One" Nangolo is set for the biggest fight of his career as he faces Ghanaian veteran Felix Ajoma for the vacant WBO Africa Super Featherweight title. The highly anticipated showdown is set for 29 March in Windhoek.

Ajoma, a seasoned fighter boasting a professional record of 22 wins, two losses and one draw, brings a wealth of experience to the ring. The Ghanaian pugilist is determined to make his mark and claim the prestigious WBO Africa title, posing a significant challenge for the promising Nangolo. Throughout his career, he has accumulated a total of 25 bouts, demonstrating his extensive experience in the ring. Ajoma's impressive knockout rate stands at 60%, highlighting his formidable punching power. As of now, he is ranked third in the Super Featherweight division in Ghana.

Nangolo has shown immense promise in his professional career. With 12 fights under his belt, he has steadily climbed the ranks and is ready to prove himself. This title fight presents a golden opportunity for him to make a statement in the Super Featherweight division. Since his debut on 6 December 2019, Nangolo has participated in 12 bouts, accumulating a total of 61 rounds. With four knockouts, he has demonstrated significant power in the ring. As of now, he is ranked seventh in the Flyweight division in Namibia.

The bout is expected to be an electrifying clash, with both fighters bringing contrasting styles to the ring. Ajoma's power and experience will be tested against Nangolo's agility and technical prowess. Ryan Rispel will also feature in the main supporting bout for Nangolo’s fight, promising fans a thrilling undercard filled with high-calibre action. Additionally, the highly anticipated return of Walter Kautondokwa is set to add further excitement to the event.

Prominent boxing promoter Nestor Tobias of AC Boxing Academy expressed excitement for the event, emphasising the academy’s dedication to providing Namibian fighters with opportunities to shine on the international stage.
