Parkies seeks vengeance
Windhoek Gymnasium and Pioneerspark Primary School battled it out on Saturday in the Namibia School Sports Union's rugby super league finals.
Two Windhoek schools put on forth a hardy battle on Saturday in the Namibia School Sports Union’s rugby super league finals.
Pioneerspark Primary School and Windhoek Gymnasium gave each other their best fights as their under-11, under-12 and under-13 teams took to the field.
Gymnasium managed victory in both the under-11 and under-12 divisions, with full-time scores of 10-0 and 7-5 in their favour.
However, Pioneerspark seemingly sought vengeance in the star match of the league, the battle for the under-13 super league title.
Both teams laid the defence on thick during the first half, going into half-time with no points on the scoreboard. Pioneerspark emerged from the half-time break with renewed vigour, scoring a series of picturesque tries. Gymnasium managed to counter with one of their own.
Pioneerspark emerged as the super league champions, leading 33–7.
Meanwhile, Pro-Ed Academy from the central coast took on Windhoek's Suiderhof Primary School for the under-13 reserve league title. The coastal visitors took home the title with a 33-12 score line.
