Lowe, Hahn, Key unstoppable
Kevin Lowe easily defeated the under-23 and elite men at the Rock & Rut Mountain Bike Club's Nedbank Cross Country Series 3 on Saturday afternoon.
The men all completed six laps around a somewhat strange technical course located at Kleine Kuppe in Windhoek, but Lowe's speed and ingenuity were unmatched by his competitors.
He completed the six rounds in 1 hour, 2 minutes, and 48 seconds, while the elite male winner, Xavier Papo, finished in 1:13:30.
In addition, Daniel Hahn and Adrian Key, who finished second and third, respectively, in the junior division, surpassed the elite riders with times of 1:05:52 and 1:08:02.
In the elite women's competition consisting of five rounds, Nicola Fester won with a time of 1:07:03, followed by Madison Mann in 1:12:26 and Luanne van der Schyff (1:15:49) in third.
