Katelynn will never be forgotten

The passing of the kind-hearted, ever-smiling 18-year-old Katelynn Venter, a talented and acclaimed Paralympic archer, has left family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances in mourning.

Katelynn passed away on Tuesday 6 August, a few days after undergoing brain surgery in Windhoek. She was in contention for inclusion to the upcoming Paralympic Games in Paris.

Katelynn started archery in 2019 and was a member of the Atlantis Archery Club in Walvis Bay. She was born with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. Despite her handicap, Katelynn never gave up hope and became a Namibian champion and African gold medalist.

The Lions Club is celebrating the exceptional life of Katelynn Venter on Friday 16 August at 11:00 at the NG Moedergemeente Walvis Bay.
