Fistball action this Saturday
Players geared to go
The Fistball National Cup tournament will take place on the grounds of the Cohen Fistball Club this Saturday.
The prestigious tournament is played in four categories, namely A, B, and under-16 and under-13.
The first matches will kick off at 08:30.
The games are played according to time and not according to sets as usual. Only the final will be played according to winning sets.
In category A, CFC 1 will do everything it can to defend the cup on home soil again this year. In category B, an open exchange of blows is expected.
Battle on the cards
The under-16 SKW A and SFC A youths offered the spectators a dramatic final with a better ending for the capital-based club in the playoffs six weeks ago. The ambition for revenge for the SFC A u-16 is therefore inevitable.
In group A, the seven-time national champion from the last eight years, CFC 1, will play against all three SKW teams. A hot fight for the semi-finals between the guests of the first and third teams is expected.
Coveted win
The league runners-up, CFC 2, SFC 1, CFC 3 and SFC 2, compete in group B. While the fistball players from Swakopmund are struggling with some key absentees, the hosts have a solid squad to choose from.
Another exciting battle for the coveted title is expected in the u-16.
The favourites are SFC A and the newly crowned league champion, SKW A.
None of the teams in the u-13 proved to be unbeatable this season, hence nerve-wracking encounters can also be expected among the youngsters.
The national cup tournament is also the end of the season, and at the award ceremony, the league and national cups will be distributed.
The player of the year in the adult and youth categories as well as the MVP for adults will be awarded.
