Cohen Fistball Club 1 (CFC 1) retained their Category A title this weekend, by defeating Sport Klub Windhoek 1 (SKW 1) 3-1 in the Bank Windhoek Fistball Opening Tournament final at the SFC Sports Centre in Swakopmund.

Defending champions Swakopmund Fistball Club 2 (SFC 2) clinched a victory against SKW 2, scoring 3–2 in a nail-biting final, and retained the Category B title.

Tough games

During an interview with Erongo Talk, the Fistball Association of Namibia's media officer and captain of the winning team (CFC 1), Helmo Minz, described the final against SKW 1 as a tough match.

"We were on the back foot. We literally had to fight back into the game, which was not easy. SKW 1's position was strong, and the weather conditions were also quite harsh. In the end, we managed to come back and win."

Community

Minz added that it was a "great" tournament overall that produced quality matches.

"We also had a match where the squad from the national team played against each other. The quality was great, and we are looking forward to participating in the World Cup this July in Mannheim, Germany."

He urged interested parties to swing by the club and try out the sport.

"You can simply come by and try it out. It's a really great sport and an even greater community," he said.
