Bucks Buccaneers coach Woody Jacobs is adamant that his charges will give a good account of themselves when they come up against Tigers FC tonight at the Independence Stadium (kick-off at 19:00).

Jacobs, who has coached Tigers before, expects his players to be motivated when both teams attempt to add valuable Debmarine Namibia Premiership log points to their tally.

Jacobs is fully aware that Tigers have their own desires to win the important early weekend fixture.

“We are definitely ready for this weekend’s match and we want to do well against Tigers.

“The team has been training and the good thing is that there is a positive energy in the camp.

“We are a team with talented players and that is why we are always excited for a challenge,” Jacobs said.

Bucks Buccaneers are currently not in a comfortable position (12th, with 13 points).

The club is only two points above the drop zone which has Young Brazilians (11 points), Blue Waters (11 points) and Cuca Tops (six points) as the bottom three.

Bucks Buccaneers have so far only won two of their 13 matches, while they have dropped two points on seven occasions in the league.

Woody Jacob’s men have so far been defeated four times, with seven draws, while scoring nine and conceding 10 goals in the premiership.

The club got off to a poor start to the season before Woody Jacobs was appointed to spearhead the team in the right direction.

Tigers FC on the other hand are placed seventh on the table, having won five of their matches, while losing three this season.

Tigers have managed to obtain a point on four occasions and are just four points behind log leaders African Stars that are currently on 23 points.

Reigning title holders African Stars’ weekend contain two fixtures scheduled at Okahandja’s Nau-Aib Stadium, namely against the local Okahandja United (Saturday at 16:00) and Mighty Gunners (Sunday at 16:00).
