On this week’s Athletes World episode, we are joined by marathon specialist Alina Armas.

A decorated long-distance runner, she competed and finished at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and finishing seventh in the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in July 2022.

The 39-year-old has been on form recently, finishing first in the Diacore Gaborone Half Marathon in Botswana last year, as well as winning the Spar Marathon and Sanlam Coastal Marathon earlier this year.

Here on Athletes World, she shares some tips on how she’s getting ready for the Vivo Energy Windhoek Marathon scheduled to take place on 29 July 2023.

She also tells Sport Wrap what her daily routine looks like, as she is a full-time employee with the Namibian Defence Force.
