Atalanta beat Lazio to break into Serie A top four
Goals by defender Davide Zappacosta and forward Rasmus Hojlund earned Atalanta a 2-0 win at Lazio in Serie A on Saturday, as they overtook the hosts in the table to break into the top four.
Atalanta opened the scoring at the Stadio Olimpico in the 23rd minute through Zappacosta, who unleashed a beautiful shot into the top right corner.
Hojlund doubled their advantage 20 minutes into the second half when he controlled a cross from Ademola Lookman and pushed the ball into the net from close range.
Atalanta moved up to third from sixth in the standings, level on 41 points with fourth-placed AS Roma and AC Milan in fifth. Lazio dropped one place to sixth on 39 points.
