Agility and strength celebrated at T&T's national champs

The Namibian Gymnastics Federation’s (NGF) national championship for trampoline and tumbling brought together 64 gymnasts nationwide, showcasing daring flips and flawless landings in pursuit of national glory at Walvis Bay’s Jan Wilken Indoor Centre recently.
Walvis Bay Gymnastics Club (WBGC) was represented with 28 participants, Windhoek Trampoline Club (WTC) with 18, Moria Gymnastics Club from Outjo with 11, and Chalk Gymnastics Club from Windhoek with eight gymnasts.
A strong audience turnout reflected the growing enthusiasm and support for the sport.
The participants vied for top honours across the disciplines of trampoline, double-mini trampoline, mini trampoline and tumbling, with trophies awarded to the gymnasts with the highest cumulative scores across the season’s qualifying competitions and with national championship scores counting double.
Trampoline, mini-trampoline winners
The trampoline trophy winners were WBGC's Noa Lofty-Eaton, reigning supreme at Level 9, Chalk’s Victoria Jansen displaying top performance to earn the Level 8 trophy, Jessica Blaauw (WBGC) excelled in Level 7 and Daniela Amutjira (WTC) emerged victorious in Level 6.
Beata Nakambale of WBGC secured the Level 5 title, followed by her clubmate Antoné du Preez (Level 4), Leah Broekstein from WTC (Level 3), Gerda Koop from WBGC (Level 2) and Eleanor Dukhi (WBGC) who triumphed as the Level 1 champion.
In the mini-trampoline discipline, WTC’s Eduan Carstens displayed impressive talent and dedication to clinch the Level 1 trophy.
Double-mini Trampoline winners
In the double-mini trampoline discipline, Chalk’s Victoria Jansen clinched the Level 9 trophy, with WBGC’s Elanza Steyl dominating Level 8. Lea van Zyl from WTC clinched the Level 7 title, with WBGC’s Beata Nakambale, capturing the Level 6 title.
Her clubmate Antoné du Preez clinched the Level 5 competition, with Level 4 going to Lize-Mari van Rooyen from Moria, and Level 3 to Matthias Nel (WBGC). Amy van Zyl (WTC) earned the Level 2 title, while WBGC’s Clarrise Carneiro won in Level 1.
Tumbling winners
Chalk’s Hannah Dunaiski won the Level 7 tumbling competition with Beata Nakambale (WBGC) leading the way in Level 6 and Lea van Zyl (WTC) emerging victorious in Level 5.
Level 4 saw Isanrie Dreyer (WTC) come out on top, alongside Antoné du Preez (WBGC) in Level 3, La-Rochelle Laynes (WBGC) in Level 2, and Eduan Carstens (WTC) topping Level 1.
Excellence awards
Gymnasts who achieved remarkable average scores in at least one of the three qualifying competitions throughout the year were also celebrated.
The Excellence Awards recognition went to Ameerah Nampala, Antoné du Preez, Emilee Feris, Etienne Nel, Gerda Koop, Hannah Dunaiski, Jessica Blaauw, La-Rochelle Laynes, Lika Myburgh, Matthias Nel, Victoria Jansen and Noa Lofty-Eaton. Trophies for Most Improved gymnasts celebrated Danielle van Rooi, Isanrie Dreyer, Daniella Amutjira, Etienne Nel and Nico Kotze.
The technical committee of the Trampoline and Tumbling (T&T) section was impressed by the gymnasts’ significant improvements across different disciplines, indicating that the competition provides a benchmark for growth and skill progression over the season.
The first NGF qualifying event is set for early next year and the committee is exploring opportunities for international participation, with plans expected to be finalised by the end of the year.
