Woman dies while stuck in a vehicle
NEWS IN SHORT
A 34-year-old woman died while she was sitting in a vehicle that had become stuck on a wet road near Ondangwa over the weekend.
Oshana crime investigation coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Frederick Ndjadila, said the incident occurred at about 08:20 in Olungalunga village.
The deceased and her boyfriend were reportedly on the way to the man's house when the vehicle got stuck at around 04:00.
“The neighbours came to help pull out the bus but did not manage," Ndjadila said.
"Two cars that were called and tried to pull out the car also got stuck, and finally they got a tractor that came to remove the bus,” he said.
During this time, the woman had been left alone in the vehicle.
Tragically, after the vehicle was finally pulled free, her boyfriend realised she was no longer moving and had died.
Her relatives informed the police that she had struggled with health problems.
The man told police he and the woman had only been in a relationship for two weeks before she passed away.
A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
