Finance minister Iipumbu Shiimi says the Oshikuku Annual Trade Fair offers a platform for investment opportunities and growth.

Speaking at the official opening this week, the minister said the trade fair creates a trading and networking platform for the business community to showcase their entrepreneurial innovations.

The trade fair also enhances economic activities in the town by boosting the town's cash flow, he said.

"Through improved investment come employment opportunities, increased economic activities and ultimately better living conditions,” Shiimi said.

He said it is therefore crucial that the trade fair receives the much-needed support from the locals as well as the government in order to develop the economy.

Oshikuku mayor Julia Endjambi said the trade fair not only creates opportunities for investors but also promotes the town's socioeconomic growth.

Endjambi said this year’s edition is the first hosted by the Oshikuku Town Council with the direct involvement of the community.
