Okalongo bartender killed over N$200
Simeon Lotete (30), who killed his girlfriend on Saturday at Onandjaba settlement in Okalongo, allegedly committed the heinous act because the woman refused to sleep with him after he gave her N$200, Namibian Sun understands.
Lotete allegedly snatched a gun from a security guard and attacked his girlfriend, Hilya Tulinawa Nekongo, by hitting her on the forehead with the firearm. She died instantly, police said.
“It is alleged that the boyfriend and girlfriend were arguing, [and] the boyfriend went and [stole] the firearm from a security guard who was on duty, [and proceeded] to chase the girlfriend. It is further alleged that the boyfriend hit the deceased on the forehead ... and the girlfriend died on the spot,” reads a police report into the incident.
Shortly afterward, Lotete fled the scene and subsequently ended his own life, police stated.
The deceased had been employed as a bartender at a local bar.
