Inmate attacks cellmates, officers, medical staff

A violent altercation at the Gibeon police holding cells on Friday night left three inmates injured, one of whom continued to display aggressive behaviour, assaulting officers and medical staff.
At approximately 22:35, police responded to a disturbance at the holding facility, where it is alleged that a detained suspect seriously assaulted two other inmates inside the same cell he was held in.
On arrival, officers found both victims covered in blood. As they opened the cell to intervene, the suspect launched an attack on the officers.
The officers were able to restrain and handcuff the man before all three inmates were taken to a local clinic for medical treatment. During the transfer, the suspect allegedly bit a nurse on the wrist, continuing his violent outburst.
