Incarcerated rape accused worries about his 'cattle'

During his first court appearance on Monday at Ondangwa, a 52-year-old man accused of rape pleaded with Magistrate Nelao Ya France to grant him bail, arguing that his cattle would scatter if he remains in custody.
The incident allegedly occurred this past weekend at Okadhiya village in the Onyaanya constituency, Oshikoto Region. The accused, Thomas Sakaria, is alleged to have raped an intellectually disabled woman victim while she was asleep. In addition to concerns about his cattle, Sakaria told the court that he needed to be released to inform his employer of his whereabouts.
