Death of child in Uis area linked to snake bite

A four-year-old boy died on Tuesday in the Otumwe area of Uis, reportedly as a result of a fatal snake bite.
According to reports, the child's father, who had been asleep next to his wife and three children, was awakened early in the morning by the screams of his son, Joseph Ndumentu. Upon investigating, the father discovered a snake emerging from underneath the child's blanket.
He quickly killed the snake and rushed the child to the clinic in Uis. Joseph was declared dead upon arrival at the clinic.
An autopsy will be conducted to confirm the cause of death.
