Most political parties are in the process of launching their manifestos in anticipation of the November elections. Would you say manifestos are still a good campaign tool, and what type of societal issues would you like parties to focus on?

Manifestos remain a vital campaign tool, because they offer voters a clear vision and policy commitments. They help voters understand party priorities and allow for a level of accountability of politicians. In this election, I'd like to see a focus on pressing issues like healthcare access and funding, as well as economic inequality, which are critical for addressing long-term societal well-being and stability.

Manifestos are still useful if they lead to real change. Parties should address major issues like job creation, improving education, enhancing healthcare, providing affordable housing, fighting corruption and protecting the environment. Focusing on these areas will make manifestos more meaningful and help build greater trust with voters.

Manifestos remain a key tool for political campaigns, setting out parties' plans and promises. In Namibia, focusing on crucial societal issues like education quality, healthcare accessibility, job creation and sustainable development can make manifestos impactful. Addressing these issues can resonate with voters and show a party's commitment to addressing real needs. Manifestos serve as a roadmap for parties to address pressing concerns and gain public trust in the upcoming elections.

Manifestos remain a vital campaign tool, offering voters insight into a party’s priorities and plans. They help hold parties accountable once in power. As elections approach, I’d like to see parties focus on addressing pressing societal issues like poverty alleviation, improving access to quality education, healthcare reform, and environmental sustainability. Tackling corruption and ensuring economic stability are also critical, as these affect citizens' everyday lives and the country's future trajectory.

I believe the launch of manifestos by our political parties holds little weight, as we have on numerous occasions seen that these promises seldom materialise. Our country’s deep-rooted poverty and social disparities remain one of our gravest concerns; this, along with the lack of employment, especially for the youth, needs to be addressed. I need our leaders to stop making promises that are unkept and be more proactive in their efforts to address our current crisis.
