SHORTS: Woman found dead in field
A 52-year-old woman was discovered dead on Tuesday morning at Mbambi village in the Kavango West region.
Deputy Commissioner Elsavador Ndeunyema, the acting regional commander for Kavango West, confirmed the incident, which occurred around 06:00. The deceased, identified as Regina Musenya, had her next of kin informed.
According to Ndeunyema, Musenya had gone to her mahangu field with her children to weed. She reportedly asked her children to wait while she went to relieve herself, assuring them she would return to indicate where they should begin weeding.
“But she never returned, and her children began searching for her. She was found lying on the ground, not breathing,” Ndeunyema explained. He added that the cause of death will be determined following an autopsy.
Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
