SHORTS: Man escapes custody while receiving treatment

Police in the Kavango West Region have launched a manhunt for a 27-year-old man who escaped custody on Saturday night at the Nkurenkuru Lutheran Health Center.

Kavango West police regional commander, Commissioner Julia Sakuwa-Neo, confirmed the incident, which occurred at approximately 23:15.

The suspect, identified as an Angolan national, reportedly fled while receiving medical treatment at the facility.

"The exact circumstances surrounding the escape are still under investigation and have yet to be determined," Sakuwa-Neo stated.

Authorities continue their search for the escaped individual as investigations remain ongoing.
