Drowned man at Walvis identified

The police have identified Simson Hishekwa (63) as having been the man found dead in the water near the Etosha Seafood jetty in Walvis Bay on Tuesday morning.
His body was discovered at around 07:40 by a colleague, who immediately reported the incident.
"The police were summoned to the scene, and the deceased was certified dead at Walvis Bay State Hospital by a nurse," Senior Inspector Judith Shomongula of the Erongo police said.
Hishekwa had reportedly left the vessel Therona on Monday, at approximately 17:00 to go to Kuisebmund. Authorities confirmed that he had a history of epilepsy, which may have contributed to the incident. His next of kin has been informed.
Police investigations into the circumstances of the drowning continue.
