City Police warn against e-wallet fine scam

News in short
Rita Kakelo
The Windhoek City Police have issued a warning to the public after receiving numerous complaints about an officer from the Namibian Police or City Police reportedly demanding that fines be paid via e-wallet, and threatening arrest for non-compliance.

City Police spokesperson Marcelline Murapo has confirmed that the police do not accept payments for penalties via e-wallet, blue wallet or any other form of mobile payment.

"Kindly report such activities to our toll-free number, 061 302 302, or send us a detailed text to 4444," she urged.
