These people often lack the capacity to critically evaluate the truthfulness of what is promised in these manifestos.Tatenda MugovaThere is an element of propaganda and brainwashing involved. Voters, and people in general, need to reflect on the contents of previous manifestos. In the last manifesto, they talked about food security, but what progress has been made on that in modern Namibia? However, all I hope for is that whoever is placed in power will make realistic efforts to address issues affecting the youth. Where I live in Windhoek, I see many young people resorting to unproductive means of survival, and something must be done about it. We need to support the many young talents that are going to waste.Ester HamupembeIt’s no surprise that our country is currently facing a severe unemployment crisis, especially among the youth, which contributes to our economic instability and social unrest. This issue is worsened by the fact that there’s a split in the economy that favours a certain group of people in the country.Mercy JaepaWhile manifestos remain a key campaign tool, I am however of the sentiment that the work of the party that has been in office should reflect what they have put in their manifestos and show already what they can do. Societal issues we can focus more on are access to quality healthcare, which remains a crucial concern. Parties should outline plans for improving healthcare systems, addressing mental health and ensuring affordable access for all.Manifestos could also include strategies for job creation, fair wages and support for small businesses. Lastly, they should look into the new education curriculum system that is not beneficial to either students or teachers.
