REMEMBER HISTORY: A golden statue of Namibia's founding president and former Swapo leader Sam Nujoma was unveiled yesterday at the party’s new headquarters in Windhoek ahead of his burial tomorrow. The statue depicts Nujoma holding two-month-old Cassinga massacre survivor Ndinelao M’lukeni in a historic 1978 photograph. Nujoma led Swapo for 47 years – 30 as a liberation movement leader and 17 as party president.
