JUST IN: Namibia shines at Miss Africa 2022
Albertina (Tina) Haimbala was crowned as the second princess in the Miss Africa 2022 pageant in Calabar, Nigeria, yesterday.
She is a 22-year-old marketing student in her final year at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (Nust).
Albertina was raised at Mount Etjo Safari Lodge.
It was in this little community where she experienced and learnt to understand the saying “it takes a village to raise a child”.
She grew up among modest people and wild life, seeing lions, elephants, rhinos and cheetahs daily.
“The beautiful nature of Namibia is where I call home,” she says.
It is her dream to advocate for children born with disabilities, and to find ways to make a difference in the lives of children all over Africa who live with similar challenges.
