GROOTFONTEIN BIDS FAREWELL: Members of the Namibian Defence Force (NDF) carry the body of late struggle icon Sam Nujoma at the Grootfontein Military Airport yesterday. Nujoma's hearse then proceeded through the town to Omulunga Stadium, where the speaker of the National Assembly, Peter Katjavivi, addressed hundreds of regional residents at the memorial service on behalf of the chief mourner, President Nangolo Mbumba. Today, a memorial service for Nujoma is scheduled to take place at Kuisebmond Stadium in Walvis Bay, Erongo Region, where former prime minister Ben Amathila will represent the chief mourner.
