Capricorn Group changemakers spread holiday cheer
Regional Christmas drive benefits organisations across the country

The spirit of giving was alive and well at Capricorn Group this festive season as employees embraced their roles as changemakers through the group’s annual regional Christmas drive.
Last week, the initiative reached out to vulnerable communities across Namibia, focusing on orphans and the elderly by delivering gifts, singing Christmas carols and spending quality time with those in need. The regional Christmas Drive benefitted several organisations across the country.
The Hope Village orphanage in Windhoek and the HappyLand Safe Haven in Henties Bay received toys, clothing and blankets.
Their impact also reached the URC Mariental Soup Kitchen, serving 35 orphans and 65 elderly individuals in the Empelheim settlement. The donations included blankets, books, cosmetics, toys and clothing.
In a statement, the Capricorn Group said the regional Christmas Drive is part of its broader Changemaker Programme, which embodies the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and improving the social and economic conditions of the communities in which it operates.
“What we think and see is not always the reality. Hope Village is such a well-organised home that has changed the lives of so many children. The changemaker programme does make an impact, and as an individual, you feel that you contribute to making that difference,” said Marlize Horn, Capricorn Group’s executive for brand and corporate affairs.
She added: “We are deeply thankful for our open-hearted employees who embody the spirit of giving. Their dedication and willingness to make a difference brought joy and hope to communities in need this Christmas.”
