Brighter festive season for young and old alike
A group of companies recently joined forces to ensure that both young and old are spoiled this festive season.
Under the leadership of CMC Private Hospital, sixteen senior citizens from the Eastern Court Old Age Home in Windhoek received care packages containing cooking oil, sugar, pasta, rice and body lotion, among other items.
"Seeing the joy on their faces reminded us of the importance of community and compassion. Let us continue to cherish and support those who carry the wisdom of years in their hearts," CMC shared on their Facebook page about the event.
With the help of Metro Hyper Namibia, Nampath Laboratories and Namibia Aesthetics, these packages were handed over to residents earlier this month.
“Last year, we spoiled children in state hospitals, and this time we wanted to do something for our elderly,” said Samuel van Wyk of CMC Private Hospital.
Christmas competition
In addition to their donation to the old age home, CMC Private Hospital also proudly hosted its annual Christmas competition.
This year, it was a drawing competition for children aged between four and 12, where participants had ten minutes to draw an image depicting Christmas with their family. The competition took place on 7 December at the Wernhil Shopping Centre, and children could participate between 09:00 and 16:00 that day.
“It was a huge success with 75 entries. Three children won, each walking away with N$500 in cash and Waltons vouchers.”
In first place was nine-year-old Jane Ndapandula Josop, who won N$500 in cash and a Waltons voucher worth N$2 000.
In second place was six-year-old Frigia Jerusalem, who also received N$500 in cash and a Waltons voucher worth N$1 000.
Third place went to six-year-old Mezeri Marenga, who won N$500 in cash and a voucher of the same value.
“Today, we celebrated the creativity and imagination of our young artists with an unforgettable event. Each child brought their unique spark, and we are so proud of all the participants,” CMC said.
