Police have launched an investigation into the alleged rape of a 37-year-old woman on Saturday in Oshakati.

According to the police, the woman was raped by her boyfriend after she refused to have sex with him. Police in the Oshana Region confirmed that the man has been arrested.

Police say another case of rape is being investigated after a 36-year-old woman was allegedly raped by an unknown man on the same day in Epako, Gobabis.

According to the police report, the victim fought her attacker during the assault. The suspect then reportedly pushed a finger into her left eye, attempting to gouge it out. During the struggle, the woman bit the suspect's face, causing him to retract his finger. She then pushed him away, grabbed her clothes and fled. No arrest has been made to date.
