Dating in high school is a distraction

Dating in secondary school is an explicit distraction! Relationships come with terms and conditions which need to be implemented and this may effectuate to low enthusiasm for learning.

Teenage years are known to be one of the most crucial of a human being’s life, in terms of decision-making. Dating is something that has been normalised in today’s world. It has brought dangerous problems to young people’s lives that can also persist into their future. Teenagers are still learning who they are as they have so much on their plate.

Dating in secondary school increases vulnerability and insecurities of teens all over. Romance is a bewilder amongst teens as it limits them from accomplishing their goals. Love leads to pessimistic things which can ruin your life in a blink of an eye, such as sexual activities without protection.

This can either be caused by pressure from other peers or discovery attempts which can lead to an increase in sexual transmitted disease (STD) risks. Relationships can also lead to teenage pregnancy, meaning that the girl child will skip school for few months due to breastfeeding. This may be tough for a teenager as she is missing out on school activities.

Boys are distracted as well and drawn away from their academic work because their minds are mainly filled with how they are going to manage being a father at an early age. This leads to anxiety as well as dropping out of school because they have to figure out ways to support their child. As a learner, you have to consider what you want to achieve.

Goals require dedication

Teenagers have goals which require dedication, high concentration as well as motivation. In a relationship, most of your time is taken up by your significant other as you are more focused on other aspects such as thinking that your soulmate is being disloyal, which later drives you to depression. When a learner faces depression, they seem fatigued, lack energy and tend to give up easily.

They put little effort into their schoolwork and have trouble concentrating in class, and this leads to low grades.

In contrast, a healthy teenage relationship can be beneficial in a sense that both people can offer emotional aid to each other. They can enable each other to grow as people and develop good morals from their experiences together.

It is safe to conclude that dating is unscrupulous for high school learners. And if a relationship is not healthy, it will ultimately break a high school learner both physically and emotionally.
