Voting open
In other music awards news, MTV Africa announced that voting is now open for the return of the continental flagship award show – the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA).
The awards will be held in a re-imagined virtual format in partnership with Uganda, on Saturday, 20 February.
“The award show will be aired on MTV Base (DStv channel 322) and MTV (DStv channel 130). The repeat show will be aired on BET Africa, BET International and MTV channels across multiple continents as a one-hour MAMA-themed MTV World Stage feature,” a press statement by MTV Africa read.
Going it alone
Closer to home, musician Chester House Prince announced his departure from the new stable, Remember The Eagle (RTE).
“I want to announce that I will no longer be part of RTE due to unforeseen circumstances. I am moving on as an independent artist and brand,” he said.
This is a developing story, as RTE is yet to give official comment on this development.
