Vehicle crashes into the sea, driver disappears

Deputy Commisioner Erastus Iikuyu of the Erongo police has asked the public to help them trace E.S. Jekonia from Ongwediva. According to Iikuyu, this is the Taxi Operator Card found the vehicle that crashed into the ocean near Vierkantklip at Swakopmund. Iikuyu said that at around 01:15, a passer by reported the accident saying the vehicle, a white Daihatsu sedan with registration N 27763 SH, was driving on B2 from Walvis Bay towards Swakopmund. The driver lost control in a bend, hit the barrier poles, rolled over the stones and landed in the the sea. Nobody was found at the scene, nobody knows how many occupants were in the car and nobody knows what happened to them thus far. The public is urged to contact Iikuyu at 081 246 4757 or Det. Sgt. Shipingana at 081 602 1522 or the nearest police station if they can assist.
