U-21 netball team finishes seventh in Botswana

Namibia’s under-21 netball team finished seventh in the Africa U-21 World Cup qualifiers held in Gaborone, Botswana, from 22 to 30 July.
The Namibian team lost six of their seven games in the tournament.
Eight nations took part - Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Uganda, Lesotho and South Africa.
The top three countries in the event qualified for the Netball World Youth Cup in 2017, also to be hosted by Botswana. They are South Africa, Zimbabwe and Uganda.
Botswana, as host nation, also qualified for the Netball World Youth Cup.
South Africa finished with 14 points, Zimbabwe 12 points, Uganda 10 points, Zambia eight points, Malawi six points, Botswana four points and Namibia two points. Lesotho finished bottom of the group without a single point.
The Namibian women won only one game - against Lesotho with 59 points to 16.
The Namibian players who travelled to Gaborone are: Sharny Engelbrecht; Rieta Marie Brandt; Juzelri Garbers; Jessica Moolman; Jehumba Hambira; Atushe Shihepo; Vickey Uarije; Uehengisa Tjozongoro; Tjimbakavaza Tjepetekera; Himezeembi Tjejamba; Minerva Calvar Callozo; and Ronell Benson.
