Award-winning Namibian jazz saxophonist Suzy Eises and her well-loved band will join the star-studded line up in this year's Windhoek Jazz Festival set to take place at the Independence Stadium this weekend. It's all systems go for the Eises camp who have invited additional international jazz musicians to expand the band. The inclusion of an additional saxophonist, trumpeter and vocalists is seen as a surprise treat by Eises for her fans for their continued support.

“Through the Windhoek Jazz Festival, I hope to thank my loyal fans for their unwavering support throughout 2018. Hopefully they will appreciate the surprise gesture I will be extending to them by way of the inclusion of additional international artists and vocalists as part of my band,” an ecstatic Eises said.

In February, Eises performed at the International Music Festival in San Antonio, Texas alongside fellow award-winning Namibian artist Elemotho, who will also be performing at the Windhoek Jazz Festival.

“It is an absolute honour to be sharing the stage with fellow Namibian musician Elemotho, who inspires me, as well as Lize Ehlers and the Sigera Jazz Band, to name just a few,” said Eises. Jazz enthusiasts are definitely in for a well-deserved summer extravaganza if the performances held by Eises earlier in the year are anything to go by. Eises and her band will be performing songs from her award-winning album and will do covers of popular songs. The inclusion of additional international artists to form part of the Suzy Eises band is made possible through the support of the Klein Windhoek Guesthouse. Eises will be performing alongside Ehlers, Elemotho, Percival Rinquest, the Sigera Jazz Band, Sedney Haufiku and Damas Fusion, as local artists, with Zonke, The Soil and Catarina Duarte as the international acts. The Windhoek Jazz Festival will take place at the Independence Stadium tomorrow. Tickets sell for N$250 at Computicket and N$300 at the gate. The gates will open at 15:00.
