Local featherweight boxer Sakaria 'Desert Storm' Lukas's tune-up fight, which had been scheduled for last weekend, was postponed until 26 February.
The Namibian will fight Mexican Mario Antonio Macias, with a win guaranteeing him a place in the top five world ranking. Thereafter he will have another fight in the Atlanta which will bring him closer to a world title fight.
The 36-year-old Lukas has 24 fights, 23 wins and one loss, whereas his Mexican rival Macias's record stands at 51 fights, 28 wins, 22 losses and one no contest.
The 35-year-old Macias has previously fought the likes of Ryan Garcia, Toka Kahn Clary, Lamont Roach and Gervonta 'Tank' Davies. He lost by knockout against all four these boxers between 2016 and 2017.
“As a team we could not travel with Lukas due to cost-cutting, but thanks to the connections we have acquired around the world we can safely and confidentially send our boxer to represent the nation abroad and to work with our international partners and coaches.
“We had a great training camp at home. Lukas is a beast and a hard worker; thus, we are positive that he will get a win,” his strength and conditioning coach, Martin Angombe wrote on social media.
