Stanzo unleashed
Eager, ambitious and poised to make a name for himself in the game, rapper Stanzo recently sat down with tjil to talk about his new project 'Live More Post Less', an album which he would like to finalise and drop fresh for the airwaves in 2019.
The ten-track album saw the young rapper travel to Cape Town where he recorded close to 40 tracks which he says is inspired by the effect of social media on the youth. “This album is drawn from a whole new experience shaped by what I picked up when I dropped a couple of singles in the past. I am excited about this one; I worked on almost 40 tracks for this album but will only use ten of those. I am proud of the fact that I produced some of those tracks myself,” says Stanzo.
According to him, the work he has put into this project has shown him that he is more mature and original.
“I have grown as an artist with this offering, the sound is much more mature and original,” adding: “This project has taught me not to limit myself creatively. Our talent and art as Namibians can participate on the international stages and actually stand out.” He excitedly shares what is up his sleeve musically as he is putting the finishing touches to the much-anticipated album which has already seen a video drop.
“I do not have any features. I do have production collaborations with Willy G, Martin Amushendje and Spadez Pro on this project but I have a few singles which feature the likes of KP ILLEST, Ngai and Loft,” Stanzo says.
Looking ahead, Stanzo says he would love to collaborate with songbirds Chikune and Shishani. “I love sampling and their vocals would make it possible for me. Both have been an inspiration for me. I would like to make the kind of music that they make because I can't sing,” Stanzo adds.
